Sudden Death: Sarcastic mastermind Boothe keeps the Vice President captive in a secluded box throughout Stanley Cup hockey playoffs in Pittsburgh, requesting a few billion dollars, or he’ll blow up the entire stadium. However fire inspector Van Damme is on the job and Boothe has foolishly seized our idol’s baby girl. Cast includes Jean-Claude Van Darnme, Powers Boothe, Raymond J. Barry, Whittni Wright, Ross Malinger, Dorian Harewood, and Paul Mochnick. (110 minutes, 1995)
Fracture: Hopkins plays a cold, determining gentleman who shoots his spouse once he finds she’s been in bed with an L.A.P.D. lieutenant. However there is no definative proof, which makes the case a perfect one for partner D.A. Gosling, who’s just getting ready to move on to a cushy job at a high-end law firm. Pavilion of Women: A slowly developing myth set in 1938 China in reference to freedom vs. feudalism. A loyal woman falls for an American minister when her child longs for his dad’s new concubine. Food of the Gods: This is a terrible adaptation of H. G. Wells’ novel. An odd event has caused mammoth expansion in the size of wasps, chickens and rats. Cast includes Marjoe Gortner, Pamela Franklin, Ida Lupino, Jon Cypher, and Ralph Meeker. (88 minutes, 1976)
The Bellboy: Entertaining succession of blackouts with Jerry as a bellboy at Fontainebleau in Miami Shore. No structure although a lot of ludicrous gags. Milton Berle and Walter Winchell have visitor appearances. This was JerryLewis’s directorial debut. Cast includes Jerry Lewis, Alex Gerry, Bob Clayton, and Sonny Sands. (120 minutes, 1960)
The Protector: Bizare mix of a kung fu film and a boy-and his pup tale, this inexpensive looking prduction from Thailand gets sentimental while a youthful martial artist has his cherished elephant stolen by thugs and transported to Australia. Following the poor men there, he hooks up with a Thaiborn Australian investigator and does battle with wicked gangs and others in an attempt to repossess his little Dumbo. Cast includes Tony Jaa, Petchtai Wongkamlao, Bongkoj Khongmalai, Nathan Jones, Johnny Nguyen, Xing Jing, and Damian De Montemas. (81 minutes, 2005)
