How do I copy dvds onto a hard drive?

/*

Okay bit of a complicated one this! I want to copy DVDs onto a portable hard drive. I have a DVD rewriter and presume I would do this via the PC but how exactly? Is there some software I need to download? Would really appreciate an idiot’s step-by-step guide on this.

Look for some software called ‘DVD shrink 3.2′ on google. Download it, and run it, then choose your output destination (ur portable hard-drive) and click ‘backup DVD’. Can’t remember what type of file this converts it into, but it will play in windows media player. If u need 2 change the file type (i doubt u will) look for ’3GP converter’ on google.
